Linda is always sincere about what she says and what she does.

Linda Acebo is an LVN in the surgery department and works as our scrub tech at CHI St. Joseph Health Bellville Hospital. Linda Acebo is a fixture here at 44 N. Cummings. We say 44 N. Cummings because it seems she was here when the first hospital was built and is still here as we begin a new chapter as CHI St. Joseph Health Bellville Hospital. Linda started working at the hospital in the summer of 1964 as a nurse’s aide. In the summer of 1965, she worked again as an aide. After graduating from Bellville High School in 1966, she attended Blinn College LVN School. After completion, she worked as an LVN at the then Bellville General Hospital. Prior to coming back to work for the hospital in 1999, she was the hospital’s only OB/GYN’s delivery nurse for 25 years until his retirement in 1999. She knows more people in Austin County than any politician! Mention a local name and chances are she was there at delivery! Linda is always compassionate, always friendly, always caring, always smiling, and always participating in employee projects or events. She never hesitates to stop in the hallway or the lobby and hug or acknowledge patients or their families, ask how they are doing, or inquire about their children or grandchildren. Linda is genuine in her care. She makes patients and their families feel safe; they know they are in good hands. She is reassuring and compassionate. She is heard after every case is complete and each patient awakes to say, “thank you for allowing us to take care of you today.” Her philosophy of care is “to treat each patient as though they were a member of my family. Always listen to what the patient has to say and be willing to help them with each and every need they may have. I want each patient to know they are not alone, and I will be with them throughout their procedure.” She is an everyday hero who exemplifies our core values. Thank you for always giving the best for our patients!

Well-said, Suzanne!! I was very blessed and fortunate to have worked with Linda for the 27 years I was at the hospital! She was always willing to help out where ever needed & made patients feel special and well cared for while they were at the hospital.
