Cathy is always willing to give her time to volunteer in the community.

Cathy’s Roots

Cathy always had a passion for caring for others and was inspired to pursue nursing by her will to help abused children. After graduating in nursing from Blinn College, she cared for children and their families for twenty years before transferring to the cath lab to provide more acute care.

Addressing Every Need

Cathy’s philosophy of care is about addressing any need a patient has and providing patients with the resources to live healthy lives. Her daily activities include making sure all equipment is in good function and ready for patients, admitting patients and prepping them, and receiving them after the procedure to prepare to send them home or to the next level of care.

Opportunity to Make a Difference

What she loves most about her job is having the opportunity to help people through difficult times. She feels that we all have an opportunity to make a difference every single day, but in healthcare, you have an opportunity to help people who can’t help themselves. “Sometimes it’s the little things we say and do that make the difference. We have a greater chance to make an immediate impact.”

Cathy’s Favorites

Outside of work, Cathy enjoys volunteering in the community with causes that CHI St. Joseph Health is passionate about as well, whether it be getting involved in Relay for Life or supporting March of Dimes. “I thank the Lord every day that I found a job and get paid for what I would do for free.” She loves having a community of care at CHI St. Joseph Health, where there is so much teamwork and supportive interaction with patients. She is grateful that the hospital gives such great support to the staff, the true framework behind the great patient care. Her love for the hospital stems from the compassionate attitude that is encouraged and celebrated at CHI St. Joseph Health, which seems to attract alike individuals with similar hearts.

We at CHI St. Joseph Health are glad to have Cathy’s tenderhearted kindness and altruistic spirit. Thank you for always giving your best for our patients!
