As a member of the Critical Care team, Gina Ortiz works to advise and develop an education and validation program for nurses on central line maintenance. She has been instrumental in improving central line associated bloodstream infection rates to maintain CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital’s legacy of quality care. As a leader within her department and organization, Gina’s Trustworthiness, integrity and passion inspire those around her. Her work as a nurse and an educator for the central line maintenance project exemplify how Gina motivates her team to work a little harder, hold themselves to a higher standard, and keep what’s important at the forefront—taking care of our patients and our people.
